Why this song exists
“The Right Way” exists because Tom and Maureen Shea trusted me to tell the story of Right Management through music. I had known Tom and Maureen personally for several years when they asked me to create a song for an event they were putting together for their team. I was honored. Because when someone asks you to write something that will represent their company in front of the people who actually do the work, you aren't just writing a catchy song. You have to understand what that company believes. What stood out to me about Right Management was the human side of what they do. Career transition can sound very corporate when we talk about it in business language. But behind every transition is a person. Someone whose work, routine, confidence, plans and professional identity may suddenly be changing. Those people don't need to feel like numbers moving through a system. They need to feel seen. They need direction. They need someone to help them recognize that what they've already accomplished still matters—and that there's another chapter ahead. That's where the song found its center: The Right way is the human way. Tom and Maureen gave me the opportunity to turn that idea into music, and then they actually used the song at their event. That meant a great deal to me. “The Right Way” exists because two people I respect trusted me with something they had built and gave me the opportunity to tell their story to the people who help make it possible. That's exactly the kind of storytelling Victory Voice Media was made to do.
