Behind the story
Why this song exists
“Reclaim Your Time” exists because after driving for Jeevz, I realized how much more the service gives people than simply a ride. I wrote this song back-to-back with “I Love My Job.” That song tells the story from my side of the driver's seat. “Reclaim Your Time” tells it from the back seat. I've watched people use that time in completely different ways. I've driven someone across Florida while he spent virtually the entire trip working quietly on his computer. Instead of losing hours behind the wheel, he arrived having accomplished an enormous amount of work. I've had regular clients climb into the car with their computers ready to go. I make sure everything is set up, get them comfortable, close the door and let them work. I handle the traffic. They handle their lives. But reclaiming your time doesn't always mean getting more work done. Sometimes it means going to a concert, a sporting event, Art Basel, dinner or a birthday celebration and actually enjoying yourself. Have the cocktails. Stay a little longer. Don't spend the evening calculating when you need to stop drinking so you can drive home. That's my responsibility now. You enjoy your night. I'll get you home safely. That's what I don't think enough people understand about a service like Jeevz. You're not simply paying someone to operate your car. You're handing over the part of your day that requires watching traffic, navigating I-95, parking, staying sober, or staring at the road—and getting that time back for yourself. Work. Talk. Celebrate. Rest. Think. Or do absolutely nothing. I've spent enough of my own life driving to understand how valuable those hours can be. That's why I wrote “Reclaim Your Time.” Because sometimes the greatest luxury isn't the car you're sitting in. It's having your time belong to you again.
