“Iguana Pizza” is what happens when a Florida food experiment discovers the internet. In February 2026, Bucks Coal Fired Pizza in North Palm Beach made an iguana pizza after content creator Ryan Izquierdo brought the idea — and the iguana meat — to owner Frankie Cecere. Cecere said it was the first iguana pizza he had ever made. The video went viral. Then the phones started ringing. According to Cecere, the restaurant received about 1,500 calls about iguana pizza, with some days bringing 200 to 300 calls. Calls. Not 1,500 pizzas. That distinction matters, because Florida does not need any help inflating its own legend. The publicity also brought complaints, a Health Department visit and questions about how iguana meat could be sourced and served through a restaurant. Reporting described the pizza as a viral experiment rather than a normal, established menu item, and the restaurant said it was working through supplier and regulatory questions. So this song does not pretend that every person who saw the video could simply walk in and order an iguana pie. The strange part does not need embellishment. One South Florida pizza. One invasive reptile. One viral video. About fifteen hundred phone calls. And suddenly a neighborhood pizza shop had become the latest battleground in Florida’s ongoing argument with the iguana.
