Iguana Hunting Vacation

South Florida really has guided iguana-hunting charters — including boat hunts and Cast & Blast packages pairing iguana hunting with peacock-bass fishing. Apparently the invasive-species problem comes with a vacation brochure.

Tired of the cold
Tired of work
Ready to leave it all behind

Come to beautiful South Florida

Warm sun
Blue water
Palm trees
Boat rides

Swim
Fish
Relax

And

Hunt iguanas

Pack your sunscreen
Grab your shades
Leave your winter coat at home

We've got blue skies
Warm canals
And green dinosaurs to roam

Half-day charter

Iguanas

Full-day adventure

More iguanas

Multi-day package
How long can this vacation get

How much P T O you got

Iguana hunting vacation

Sunshine on the water

Iguana hunting vacation

South Florida calling

Ride the canals in paradise
Let somebody else make the plan

You came down here for relaxation

Florida hands you an air rifle

I'm sorry
An air rifle

We provide that

You provide the what

Welcome to Florida

Sunscreen

Check

Comfortable shoes

Check

Check

Air rifle

We provide that

Still weird

You'll get used to it

That's not comforting

People fly here for this

Yep

On purpose

Yep

They use vacation days

Yep

To hunt iguanas from a boat

Yep

My beach vacation lacked ambition

Iguana hunting vacation

Sunshine on the water

Iguana hunting vacation

South Florida calling

Palm trees, boats, backyard pools, six-foot lizard, two o'clock

There

Where

By the canal

Can't decide between fishing and iguana hunting

Why choose

Cast and blast

Cast

Peacock bass

Blast

Iguanas

Who planned this vacation

Florida

Palm trees on the shoreline
Backyard pools in view

Condo on the left side
Something green at two

There

Where

Past the dock, beside the palms

This is somebody's neighborhood

Correct

And this is a hunting trip

Also correct

Florida is a lot

Welcome aboard
Safety first

Listen to your guide
Watch your direction
Know what's behind your target

Anything else

Yes

This is still somebody's neighborhood

That somehow made it stranger

Florida had iguanas

Lots of iguanas

Guides had boats

Canals had fish

Somebody looked at the whole situation and said

Package it

And that's how an invasive reptile became a vacation plan

Book early

Of course

Behind the story

Why This Song Exists

“Iguana Hunting Vacation” exists because Florida took invasive-species management and somehow found a way to add tourism. This is real. South Florida businesses actually offer guided iguana-hunting excursions. Documented offerings include boat-based hunts along canals, half-day and longer trips, air-rifle equipment, and packages that combine iguana hunting with fishing. There is even a wonderfully Florida category called: Cast & Blast. Cast for peacock bass. Blast for iguanas. That is not a fake package I invented because the album needed another joke. People actually book this stuff. And that is what made the song irresistible to me. Florida had an invasive reptile problem. Somebody looked at the canals, the boats, the sunshine and the giant green lizards and apparently thought: You know what this needs? A tourism product. So the song treats the whole thing like a beautiful, polished South Florida vacation commercial. Warm sun. Blue water. Palm trees. Boat rides. Fishing. Relaxation. And then, very calmly, the itinerary reveals what today's excursion actually involves. The music never admits this is unusual. Because in Florida, apparently it isn't. Operator claims about success rates, quantities or how amazing any particular excursion may be remain operator marketing. I am not certifying somebody's advertising just because it makes me laugh. The guided-hunt industry itself is the true part. Somebody turned invasive-species management into a vacation package. Of course Florida did.

Why This Sound

The music has to sound like the vacation brochure never noticed anything strange. Polished tropical pop sells blue water, palm trees and boat rides with total sincerity while the itinerary quietly reveals that the excursion is an actual guided iguana hunt.
