Fight for My Right to Live
A powerful rock anthem for every person who has ever been defined by a diagnosis instead of their spirit. "Fight for My Right to Live" reminds listeners that a prognosis is not a person's identity. Created to inspire hope, resilience, and determination, this song celebrates every warrior who chooses to keep living, dreaming, loving, and fighting for every moment they have.

Lyrics
They said terminal, like it’s the end of my song, But I’m still here, and I’m still strong. They wrote my name like a line in the sand, But I’ve still got a heart and a mic in my hand. You can label my body, but you can’t name my soul, I’m breaking their script — I’m taking control. I’m not terminal — don’t bury me yet, I’m life-limited, yeah, but I ain’t done yet. I’ve got breath in my lungs, I’ve got something to give, I’m gonna fight, fight, fight for my right to live. They talk statistics, I talk dreams, I live louder than their machines. Every scar is a spark, every tear is a flame, I’ll burn through the dark till they remember my name. You can measure my days, but not my fire, I’m wired for hope, I’m built to inspire. I’m not terminal — don’t bury me yet, I’m life-limited, yeah, but I ain’t done yet. I’ve got breath in my lungs, I’ve got something to give, I’m gonna fight, fight, fight for my right to live. Don’t write my ending, I’m still in the fight, Turn up the volume, I’m screaming tonight. Every beat of my heart’s a revolution, Every breath — my evolution. I’m not terminal — I’m still alive, Life-limited, sure, but I’m gonna thrive. I’ve got one more shot, and love to give, I’ll fight, fight, fight for my right to live! Fight! Fight! Fight for my right to live. Fight! Fight! Fight — I’m not done yet. Fight! Fight! Fight — this life’s still mine. I’m not terminal — I’m alive.
Behind the story
Why this song exists
Over more than twenty years of working alongside people facing life-limiting illnesses, I watched something heartbreaking happen over and over again. Too many people were told they were "terminal," and somewhere along the way they stopped living long before life was truly over. This song exists to challenge that mindset. A diagnosis is important, but it is not the final chapter. History is filled with people who outlived expectations—people like Stephen Hawking, Steve Gleason, Cathy Jordan, and countless others who refused to let a prognosis define their future. Fight for My Right to Live was originally written for the ALS community, but its message belongs to anyone facing impossible odds. It is a reminder that hope matters, purpose matters, and every day still has value. No one should surrender their identity because of statistics. Keep dreaming. Keep laughing. Keep loving. Keep fighting. Your story is still being written.
