Pompano Beach Gets into Your Soul

A real Victory Voice Media track from the Tourism & Destination collection.

Morning breaks on the Atlantic shore
Golden light through my open door
Pelicans gliding on a salty breeze
Sea grapes dancing in the coastal trees

Coffee in my hand as the waves roll in
Watching fishermen with weathered grins
The old pier reaching where the sea meets sky
And I still stop every time I walk by

Some places are beautiful
Some places are true

Pompano Beach gets into your soul
Like the moon pulls the tide and the tide starts to roll
From Briny Avenue to the lighthouse light
Everything feels right

Sea turtles writing their stories in the sand
Wave after wave exactly as planned
Some beaches you visit and leave behind

Pompano Beach stays on your mind

Boats slipping out through Hillsboro Inlet
Chasing another sunset they won't forget
Neighbors waving from across the street
The kind of small-town rhythm that's hard to beat

A cold draft beer at the Briny at five
Listening to old stories come alive
Nobody's rushing, nobody's late
Just another perfect Florida day

Some places are somewhere
Some places belong

Pompano Beach gets into your soul
Like the moon pulls the tide and the tide starts to roll
From Briny Avenue to the lighthouse light
Everything feels right

Sea turtles writing their stories in the sand
Wave after wave exactly as planned
Some beaches you visit and leave behind

Pompano Beach stays on your mind

Loggerheads under a summer moon
Green turtles arriving quietly too
Leatherbacks finding their way once more
Following ancient maps to this shore

The pier lights shimmer across the sea
And for a moment it's easy to believe
That heaven might be closer than we know
Somewhere in the glow

Pompano Beach gets into your soul
Like the moon pulls the tide and the tide starts to roll
From Briny Avenue to the ocean blue
There's a little bit of magic shining through

Sea turtles writing their stories in the sand
The lighthouse standing exactly where it stands
Some beaches you visit and leave behind

Pompano Beach stays on your mind

Atlantic breeze and a sky so wide
Pelicans floating on the evening tide
And if you're lucky enough to call this home

You already know

Behind the story

Why this song exists

“Pompano Beach Gets Into Your Soul” is my love story to Pompano Beach. I wrote it sitting on Pompano Pier one day, surrounded by the place I was trying to put into words. I love walking Briny Avenue. I love stopping at the Briny Pub for a cold draft beer. I love the turtles, the ocean, the pier, and the feeling of being part of a real community. But what I love most is how ordinary all of that is in Pompano Beach. You can walk down the street and people say hello. You can stop and have a conversation without feeling like you're holding somebody up or being a nuisance. People have time for each other. You can sit with a beer, watch the world go by, and simply enjoy being there. That's not a vacation day or some carefully staged Florida experience. That's everyday life in Pompano Beach. The song came from wanting to capture that feeling—the way a place can quietly become part of you until the ocean, the streets, the people and those familiar little rituals feel like home. I still play this song when I ride my motorcycle through Pompano Beach, singing it at the top of my lungs. Because I meant every word of it. Pompano Beach really does get into your soul.
